Sweetness and Light
Don't you think these biscuits are cute? I know they are aimed at children so I must be a big kid! I was completely sold on the packaging. It's based on the poem by Edward Lear - The Owl and the Pussycat. If anybody knows who the illustrator is I would love to know.
Speaking of owls there is an enchanting 10 minute BBC film here about a family of Little Owls living in an orchard in Herefordshire. Ever since I first saw it months ago I have been hunting for a real Little Owl but so far they have all eluded me.

You really cheered me up the other day with your surprise package of giraffes, mini teapot and this little fella who has been endowed with special powers to stop me from being locked out. Thank you x

I would have trouble eating them if they weren't so delicious. P brought home some more as a surprise. They were little lions and mice after an Aesops fable. They didn't last long enough for me to take a photo! I found a website for them but it's just a holding page at the moment www.artisanbiscuits.co.uk
Na, I just dripped a bit of extra batter over the top of the pancake in a heart shape. Then when I turned it over it browned faster than the rest of the pancake because it was raised. :-)

Lesley, I was reading your post about your compost-bins. I love it when people are passionate about things/objects! You are an absolute lovely character! Haha .. and then I see the cookies and pancakes and I am all happy. I have been very down lately, but this is all good stuff, so here we are THANKING YOU!!! Let me find some time to write a long e-mail back to you ... and umz ... how many wise owl cookies are left? I'll bring the milk! ;)
And I bet those pancakes didn't need a sugar-topping, huh? They look sweet enough as they are!

Oh what sweet biscuits! The closest thing we get here is Teddy Bear Biscuits {Arnotts} which are too cute to eat but we manage ~ especially the choc coated ones!
